Bare isn’t your typical chain-spa – we do hair removal differently. What began as a wax-only studio has grown into a full Medical Practice offering laser hair removal, waxing, and sugaring. Owned and operated by founder and licensed Esthetician Carolyn Staples, Bare has reimagined what smooth skin can look and feel like, creating a space where expertise, comfort, and real results come together.
About Bare
Waxing & Laser Before Bare Waxing & Laser, there was OC Waxing. In 2008, our founder, Carolyn, started small, renting a tiny closet inside a Pilates studio with just one wax pot and a vision: to create a place where hair removal was the focus, not an afterthought. At the time, waxing was usually tucked into the corner of a salon menu, but Carolyn knew it deserved its own space. Patients agreed. Word spread quickly, and that little closet filled up faster than she could have imagined.
OC Waxing grew almost overnight. Within months, Carolyn had to expand into a larger space and bring on her first employees. What began as a one-woman operation quickly turned into Orange County’s go-to waxing-only spa. For more than 16 years, OC Waxing built its reputation on consistency, professionalism, and the kind of welcoming environment that made something as personal as hair removal feel comfortable. Then came 2020 the great pause of COVID. Like many small businesses, OC Waxing was forced to step back and reflect. It was during that time that the idea of Bare Waxing & Laser was born.

Carolyn Staples is a licensed Esthetician and the proud Founder of Bare Waxing and Laser.
Dr. Mark Bernardi - Medical Director
As an avid athlete in his youth, Dr. Bernardi played soccer at Cornell University where he studied Biology and graduated Summa Cum Laude with research honors in Nutrition.
Emily Davis - Corporate Educator
Emily has been an Esthetician for 12 years and has been with Bare since 2013.
