In 2008, our founder, Carolyn, started small, renting a tiny closet inside a Pilates studio with just one wax pot and a vision: to create a place where hair removal was the focus, not an afterthought. At the time, waxing was usually tucked into the corner of a salon menu, but Carolyn knew it deserved its own space. Patients agreed. Word spread quickly, and that little closet filled up faster than she could have imagined. OC Waxing grew almost overnight. Within months, Carolyn had to expand into a larger space and bring on her first employees. What began as a one-woman operation quickly turned into Orange County’s go-to waxing-only spa. For more than 16 years, OC Waxing built its reputation on consistency, professionalism, and the kind of welcoming environment that made something as personal as hair removal feel comfortable. Then came 2020 the great pause of COVID. Like many small businesses, OC Waxing was forced to step back and reflect. It was during that time that the idea of Bare Waxing & Laser was born. With the world slowing down, Carolyn took the opportunity to think bigger: What if this wasn’t just about waxing anymore? What if patients could come to one trusted place for every stage of their smooth-skin journey? From that vision, Bare emerged. We expanded our menu to include sugaring, a natural and gentle alternative that so many patients love, and medical-grade laser hair removal, backed by licensed nurses and a medical director to ensure the highest safety and effectiveness. With this growth, it became clear that OC Waxing had evolved into something more. A new name: Bare Waxing & Laser captured both where we started and where we were headed. Today, Bare has multiple locations, a team of talented specialists, and thousands of loyal patients. But at the heart of it all, we’re still that same little dream that began in a Pilates studio closet back in 2008: committed to making hair removal simple, professional, and confidence-boosting with a touch of fun along the way.
