What is sugaring?
Sugaring is the process of applying the sugar wax against the hair growth and pulling with the hair growth and removing the hair from the root. The paste used for sugaring is made with sugar, lemon juice and water. It’s warmed up to your body’s temperature before being applied.
How long do I have to grow my hair before my first sugaring?
To get the best sugaring results, we need your hair to be at least one-fourth of an inch long. This is an average of 2 weeks of growth. Yes, it seems like a long time to grow, but it’s worth the waxing results. Everyone’s hair grows at different rates, so if your hair is the length of a grain if rice – get your bootie in here to sugar it!
How long will my skin be red?
It depends on the person and the skin type. For most people the redness is mostly gone after 30 minutes to an hour. Avoid perfumes, scrubs and other irritants the day of your service. For brides or if you are going to a special occasion, we recommend sugaring a month before to see how your skin reacts. If everything is fine, schedule another sugar sesssion a day or two before your event.
Is getting a Brazilian sugaring weird?
Brazilians are the most popular service! Our estheticians are professionally trained and specialize in waxing and sugaring the bikini area. We perform over 200 brazilians a day for both women AND men! This is also by far, our favorite service to do. It’s not weird and we will make you feel totally comfortable.
Do guy actually come here?
Yes of course! About 20% of our clientele are men. We offer all sugaring services for men- including the Brazilian (P). We love our male clientele and we firmly believe self-care is equally important for all humans.
What can I do to prepare for my service?
We always recommend ibuprofen at least 20 minutes before your sugaring service, as long as this does not contradict what your doctor has told you. If you are a female client, schedule your waxing service the first 2 weeks after your cycle. Your sensitivity level is a lot less during this time. Avoid caffeine and alcohol as these can stimulate, making you more sensitive and increase redness after sugaring. Pregnancy also increases sensitivity.
What do I have to do between my sugaring services?
Exfoliate! To ensure your next suagr is smoother and prevent ingrown hairs, we suggest exfoliating every day in the shower. By doing this – dead skin and oils are removed from the surface of the skin so the new hairs are able to grow back evenly with minimal irritation.
